Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Are You Wearing Green? I Sure Am!
St. Patrick’s Day got me day-dreaming of the stunning colors associated with various holidays – the ruby reds and gorgeous greens of Christmas, the marvelous pastels of Easter and the famous kelly green of St. Patrick’s Day.
Color plays such a vital role in our lives and I feel it’s so important to pay close attention to the color story you tell through photography. As an artist, I have a keen design eye and understand the color wheel and how to best use it in your luxury glamour photo shoot. I can make sure your stylish wardrobe, fabulous location and glamorous makeup are spot on and convey the exact feeling you want to come across in your dream photo shoot.
Here’s a little history on the Wearing of the Green from Wikipedia – “St. Patrick is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish. This story first appears in writing in 1726, though it may be older. In pagan Ireland, three was a significant number and the Irish had many triple deities, a fact that may have aided St. Patrick in his evangelization efforts. Icons of St. Patrick often depict the saint ‘with a cross in one hand and a sprig of shamrocks in the other.'” The color green has been associated with Ireland since at least the 1640s, when the green harp flag was used by the Irish Catholic Confederation. Green ribbons and shamrocks have been worn on St. Patrick’s Day since at least the 1680s.
I would love to put together a color story for your chic photoshoot.
